It is especially likely to be fatal because it is unexpected.
There are usually no symptoms to indicate that a person is suffering from alcoholic cardiomyopathy. This means that the heart attack can happen at any time, and the patient won't know the reason why because he or she didn't feel any pain or other symptoms.
